CONTEST RULES.

Version: September 19, 2026. These rules apply to the LIFE LIKE A DJ Official Track Contest 2026.

1. Organizer and purpose

The contest is organized by Łukasz Zaranek, creator of LIFE LIKE A DJ (“Organizer”). Its purpose is to discover an original electronic track suitable for official use inside LIFE LIKE A DJ and related project communication. This is a skill-based creative contest, not a lottery or a game of chance.

2. Eligibility

• Open worldwide to individuals aged 18 or older.
• Solo artists and collaborative projects may enter. For a collaboration, the submitting person must have authority from all co-creators to enter and, if selected, grant the required licence.
• No purchase, fee, label contract or LIFE LIKE A DJ account is required.
• One track may be submitted per artist/project.

3. Entry period

Entries open on September 19, 2026 and close on October 31, 2026 at 23:59 CET. Late or inaccessible submissions may be excluded.

4. Track requirements

• The track must be an original electronic music work. Released and unreleased tracks are both eligible.
• Recommended duration: 2:30–5:30. Preferred tempo range: 118–138 BPM, but tracks outside that range may still be considered.
• The entrant must control all rights needed for the submission. The track must not contain uncleared samples, vocals, stems, loops or other third-party material that prevents the licence described below.
• If a label, publisher, co-writer, collecting society or other rights administrator is involved, the entrant is responsible for confirming that the required licence can legally be granted.
• Entries that create reasonable copyright, ownership, impersonation or fraud concerns may be disqualified.

5. How to enter

Complete the form at lifelikeadj.eu/contest/ and provide a working private listening or download link. The link should remain accessible until at least November 15, 2026. MP3 320 kbps is sufficient for judging. Finalists or the winner may be asked for a 24-bit WAV master and additional artist information.

6. Judging

Entries may be evaluated for originality, production quality, musical identity, fit with the LIFE LIKE A DJ world, usability inside the game, and rights clarity. Up to 10 finalists may be selected. The Organizer may select fewer finalists if there are not enough eligible entries.

The final result is planned as 50% community/public vote and 50% jury score. The Organizer may reject duplicate, automated, purchased or otherwise suspicious voting activity. In a tie, the jury score decides. The Organizer may appoint additional music, gaming or creative-industry jury members and publish their names before final voting.

7. Planned timeline

• Submission period: September 19 – October 31, 2026.
• Shortlist: November 1–4, 2026.
• Final voting: November 5–9, 2026.
• Winner announcement: planned for November 12, 2026.

The Organizer may make reasonable timetable changes if needed and will publish material changes on the contest page.

8. Prize

There is no cash prize. Subject to final rights confirmation, the winning track will receive official featured placement associated with LIFE LIKE A DJ. The exact placement may include the game, website, menu/background experience, promotional video, trailer, gameplay content, social media or other project communication. The winner will receive artist credit where reasonably practical.

The Organizer may separately invite finalists or other entrants to discuss additional placements. No non-winning track will be used in the game or promotional material without a separate agreement or permission.

9. Ownership and winner licence

Submitting a track does not transfer copyright or ownership. Entrants retain all rights to their work.

Only if selected as the winner and after accepting the prize, the winner agrees to grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, host, stream, synchronize, publicly perform/communicate, distribute as part of the game or project media, and use excerpts of the track in LIFE LIKE A DJ, its website, trailers, gameplay videos, social channels, press/promotional materials and future versions/updates of the project. The licence lasts for the life of those uses and does not prevent the artist from releasing, licensing, selling or performing the track elsewhere.

The winner also permits reasonable technical edits needed for integration — including looping, fades, excerpts, volume normalization, file conversion and timing edits — without changing authorship or claiming ownership of the composition or master.

LIFE LIKE A DJ may not sell the winning track as a standalone music product or claim ownership of it without a separate written agreement.

10. Credits and publicity

Finalists and the winner agree that their artist name, country, track title and submitted public artist/social link may be published in connection with the contest. Personal contact details will not be published.

11. Data and privacy

Personal data submitted through the form will be used only to administer the contest, evaluate entries, contact entrants and document the result/licence. Non-winning contact data should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for contest administration, dispute handling and basic record keeping. Entrants may request correction or withdrawal before judging is complete; withdrawal removes the entry from further consideration.

12. Disqualification and cancellation

The Organizer may disqualify entries that breach these rules, contain false information, create rights risks, manipulate voting or interfere with the contest. The Organizer may cancel or materially modify the contest if technical, legal or operational issues make fair completion impractical. If no eligible track reaches a suitable standard or rights cannot be confirmed, the Organizer may decide not to select a winner.

13. No endorsement

Any third-party platforms used for links, voting or promotion are not sponsors of the contest unless explicitly stated otherwise.

14. Acceptance

Submitting the form means the entrant has read and accepts these rules. If the selected winner cannot confirm rights or accept the winner licence, the Organizer may select another finalist.

This page is intended as the operational rule set for the contest. Rights situations can vary between countries, labels, publishers and collecting societies, so entrants remain responsible for confirming that they can grant the rights they promise.
